Buddy Brew Coffee is a specialty craft roaster with a growing cult following, inspired by its home state of Florida–the lightning capital of the world–it introduced BOLT. A powerful fusion of cold brew, water, and sometimes even lemonade. For its summer launch campaign, I helped strategize its product design, messaging, and digital content for social.


My design team wanted to craft a color scheme and logo that was energetic, vibrant, and memorable to go with the bold name, BOLT. We also wanted it to have ties to its mother brand, Buddy Brew Coffee. We did this by using elements from the original Buddy Brew branding, and making a modern version of their logo by adopting new brand typefaces and going with a basic white + black color palette with hints of gold.


Although Buddy Brew is known for being rustic, we wanted BOLT to be more elegant and posh. We did this by minimizing our color palette (white + black) for maximum impact (gold accent). 


We've seen a lot of success from the launch of this campaign, BOLT has gone from the hottest cold brew in town to the shelves of every Publix in the state of Florida. Proper coffee is pretty hard to beat. But it’s not magic—it’s craftsmanship. (And maybe a bit of magic.)
